Hi Rebecca25dm,

ADHD and Autism usually qualify for services of some type (typically Personal Care Assistant services) under Medical Assistance insurance. Private insurances are a little more cautious about giving this type of service out, but there are exceptions. Depending on the severity and if there are other medical things going on with your child, they may qualify for some nursing hours as well.

The state is also working on a new service that is supposed to be rolled out in July 2011 with more of a behavioral focus to help give parents a break and work with children and adults in their homes.

If you would like an assessment done or to discuss it further, you may contact a home care agency, such as ours.

All the Best,

Amy
