MomsLikeMe.com is so excited to be part of Race for the Cure this year! We'll be inside the KARE 11 Tent in the North parking lot -- ready to say hi and meet TONS of moms!!!

After you return home and spend some wonderful time with your family -- make sure you share your story about the race right here in this thread. We'll be randomly pulling some posts from this thread and sending them a special MomsLikeMe prize pack!

You can talk about anything -- a person you met, your mom -- anything at all! We'd just like to hear about your day!

We'll be notifying our winners here on the site Monday.

Can't wait to hear your stories.

Cindy

This is the 4th year my cousin and I have gone to MOA for the Race for the Cure.  Last year my sister joined us.  We have each been touched by someone who has had breast cancer.  Because of the 'wow affect' of seeing all the survivors and people participating in the walk, I can't imagine not being there.  I only hope my in my life time they will find a cure.  Happy Mother's Day to all.

Today was my 7th year at the Race for the Cure. My mom had been cancer free for about 10 years and wanted us all to celebrate with her each mother's day by participating in the race for the cure. A few years later, her cancer returned and our annual participation took on so much more meaning. We lost mom 2 years ago - exactly one week after her last race. Amazingly, she still made it to the race and wouldn't hear of missing it. Her only request for us was that we always make a point of continuing with the wonderful tradition. Today was for her. She would have loved it!

I have done the walk for the past 3 years and will do the walk for as long as I am physically capable. Each year my family stays at a hotel the night before the walk so we can spend time together. My aunt battled breast cancer and lost the battle and I have another aunt who fought the battle and won. She has been cancer free for over 10 years. My mom, my children, My mother and I and my cousins and their children, my aunts and uncles, everyone in my family participate in the walk. It is a wonderful experience and if you have not had the chance to walk for the cure sign up next year. It is the best way to spend mothers day! I enjoy every moment of the walk. Thanks to all who participate.

I did the walk the first time this year with my 10 month old daughter. My mom, sister and nephew have been doing it for 5-6 years so I thought I'd join them this year. I had a blast and will be coming back next year. I know my mom really appreciated having us walk with her.
