My daughter is 6 monhts old, and her hands and feet are ALWAYS cold!!!!  Especially her hands!!!!  It doesn't matter how warm it is, her hands are always a little on the chilly side.  When I pick her up at day care, they're freezing.  Any suggestions, or is this something I'll have to ask her doc about???  I'm just concerned as to what to do now that it's getting chlly at night and what to do once winter hits.  Thanks!!!!

Oh my gosh...my DD is now 14 months, but when she was little last winter, she would wake up with FROZEN hands.  Ice cold and it freaked me out.  I wonder what this winter will bring?

I was told to feel the back of baby's neck.  My son used to get cold hands and feet when he was littler but I would feel his neck and since it was warm, I didn't worry too much.  Only think I would attribute it to is circulation.  I have really low BP so my extremities can get cold easier, too, must be hereditary.  I try to make sure baby's wearing socks that fit properly, pants and shoes that aren't too tight.  Also does the daycare use the A/C too much?  if the air is cold it might make little hands and feet cold.

My son was always the same way. I asked the doctor and he said its normal for babies to be like that. My son was born in October of last year so I was asking all winter long. His feet still stay cold with or without socks. Ask the doctor if you feel the need (other wise it'll just keep bothering you) but as long as they aren't turning blue or purple and still respond to stimulations I wouldn't worry.

Hi.  Just make sure her hands and feet are bundled in the winter time besides the reg. coat/jumper.  it may be circulation or low  iron or nothing.  Definitely check with your pediatrician.

Have a great day!

It's probably normal, but if anyone is concerned about Raynaud's, here is what to look for:

Thanks so much!!  I'm glad that I'm not the only one who's child has this problem!!!  Our house is always on the cold side in the winter, so I'm a bit concerned about that, but her back and all is still warm, so it's just the hands, and sometimes the feet.........I'm going to mention it to her doc next time......

my child also had blue lips with this problem and i would be really upset about it. but it was because my mother told eveyone like i was a bad mother. it is a circulation problem and it helps if you massage the hands and feel till the circulation catches up with the rest of her system, but, get the drs opinion too!!

My son's feet were also always cold.  Doctor said nothing to worry about.  Just run it by your doc.

I was told my our pediatrician that this is normal for babies. Their hands and feet are often cold, so you have to judge they comfort level temperature wise by feeling their torso instead. Our doc said it's only cause for concern if there are other obvious signs of bad circulation, but like so many others said, I'd check with the doc just to be safe.
